The global challenge facing agriculture is to meet society's needs for food, fibre and fuel in ways that can be sustained into the future economically, environmentally and socially.
The Institute is helping to meet this challenge through its research, education, training and communication. Issues for agriculture and resource management are addressed through a series of forums for all sectors of the industry:
- each year we hold lectures given by eminent local, national and international speakers
- industry forums ensure that there is the opportunity for issues to be thoroughly debated
- workshops cover specific issues such as crop improvement and sustainability
- our research is highlighted in postgraduate showcases.
