BSc Agriculture (Hons) and MSc Agriculture (Res.); PhD
Natal Department of Agriculture
and Environmental Affairs

I spent 10 years working as a scientific researcher officer with the Government of Kenya before taking up a SCAAP/IDAAB Award to study at the UWA.

During my time at UWA (1983-1987) I was supervised and co-supervised by Prof W R Stern and Dr R H Sedgley. I completed my Bachelor of Science in 1987. Later I was to complete a PhD at the University of Pretoria.

In 2005 I was appointed Acting Manager of Research Coordination and Technology Development with the Natal Department of Agriculture and Environmental.

For several years, I have been an external examiner, in the specialised area of crop production systems in the tropics, for both the Universities of Pretoria and KwaZulu-Natal.

I would like to go on a sabbatical leave at UWA in the not so distant future, so that I can give back what I got from the Institute of Agriculture.
