BSc (Hons) Microbiology and Biochemistry
Development officer
Agriculture and Food WA

Following my degree, I worked as a research assistant at UWA's Department of Microbiology, furthering my Honours work and then researching mosquito-borne viruses such as Ross River Virus.

A friend told me about the postgraduate course, Masters in Natural Resource Management, consisting of both coursework and thesis, which I could complete in one year.

Completing my Masters, I moved to Geraldton, where I have been working at the Department of Agriculture and Food WA for about ten years. I have been involved in different projects focusing either on NRM issues such as salinity and more recently on analysis of different farming systems.

My role has ranged from organising and participating in events such as conferences, field days and grower workshops, to performing analyses of farming systems using computer modelling.

My current project is looking at the impact of climate change on farming systems in the northern agricultural region and the economic viability of potential alternative land uses.
