For the UWA Centenary in 2013, the Faculty of Science has ‘adopted’ the Pingelly-Brookton-Beverly trio of central wheat-belt towns.
The Faculty will work with the schools and shires in the community to develop school activities that will promote the UWA Future Farm 2050 message in the spheres of agriculture and conservation.

The UWA Future Farm 2050 recently hosted a two-day Stress Free Stockmanship course, where participants learnt how to handle livestock without acting like a predator and how to de-stress the animals so they are quieter and easier to handle.
Monday 11 March 2013 - Farmers participating in the Climate Champion program visited the UWA Future Farm 2050. Associate Professor Philip Vercoe (Animal Production Systems Program Leader) and Steven Wainewright (Farm Manager) spoke about methane production from stock (genetics/diet) and mitigation using Australian native shrubs.
Renowned ABC television series "Catalyst" recently visited UWA Future Farm as part of their Summer East to West summer series.
